It was a great surprise to open the box of Sailor Yaku-Sugi Cedar wood fountain pen, the pleasant scent of the Yaku Cedar makes it unique. This fountain pen was beautifully crafted with its natural wood pattern. The length with cap close is 14.3cm and come with a central circumference of 5.4cm, to prevent the cap from rolling off Sailor have discreetly crafted a small flat area. The fountain pen is fitted with a Naginata-togi 21k nib and writes very well.

The Yaku-Sugi Cedar trees are found on the small island of Yakushima located at the South of Kyusyu Island in Japan and was declared as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1993. The Yaku-Sugi tree known as Cryptomeria Japonica has grown naturally for well over 1000 years on the island and the oldest surviving trees are protected and have individual names such as Johmon-sugi, Hahako-sugi, Tenchu- sugi, Kigen-sugi and many more. Yaku-Sugi is the national tree of Japan, commonly planted around temples and shrines, with many hugely impressive trees planted centuries ago. The wood is scented, reddish-pink in color, lightweight but strong, waterproof and resistant to decay. Please check out this item in our website at www.pengallery.com
