Marlen Adam and Eve Limited Edition Fountain Pen

June 4th, 2010 kh No comments

Original sin is, according to a doctrine proposed in Christian theology, humanity’s state of sin resulting from the Fall of Man, when Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit of a particular tree in the Garden of Eden. This first sin (”the original sin”), an action of the first human beings, is traditionally understood to be the cause of “original sin”, the fallen state from which human beings can be saved only by God’s grace. In the Garden of Eden story of the Biblical book of Genesis, God molds Adam from the dust of the Earth, then forms Eve from one of Adam’s “ribs”, and places them both in the Garden of Eden. God charges Adam to tend the garden in which they live, and specifically commands Adam not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Eve is quizzed by the serpent concerning why she avoids eating off this tree. In the dialogue between the two, Eve elaborates on the commandment not to eat of its fruit. She says that even if she touches the fruit she will die. The serpent responds that she will not die, rather she and her husband would “be as gods, knowing good and evil,” and persuades Eve to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Then Adam eats from it too. It’s at this point that God finds them, confronts them, and judges them for disobeying.

Marlen is glad to present this wonderful and exclusive Limited edition which depicts the story of Adam and Eve. With 38 fountain pens and 28 roller made, Marlen used the special technique of Hot enamel for drawing the barrel. Hot enamel uses a process involving pulverized crystals that are liquefied at temperature between 1,200 and 1,500 degrees Fahrenheit. Numerous stages are required to produce the final product. The subject is first painted on a background of clear enamel using pulverizes colored crystals mixed with essential oils. The pen is then fired several times to fix the painting. Once the desired result has been achieved, the miniature is covered with a layer of transparent enamel and polished. The pen come with an 18K gold nib and uses piston filling mechanism.
